My New Toy!

Last night, I bought a Canon EOS rebel XSi (450D) SLR with 12.2 megapixels, this one's got amazing features for stunning photography with point and shoot ease! I got the EF lense separate along with the 16GB memory card. Altogether, it was quite a good deal! I can't wait to put this baby in action! Thanks Pangga for this pre-christmas gift:-)

This one's so cool! Test yourself if you're a left-brainer or a right-brainer, perhaps all-brainer?! Check this one out!

Do you see the dancer turning clockwise or anti-clockwise?If clockwise, then you use more of the right side of the brain and vice versa. Most of us would see the dancer turning anti-clockwise though you can try to focus and change the direction; see if you can do it.

Diamonds in the Rough

It's a cold afternoon and I felt like a lazy potato stuck on the couch watching a movie, My wife Pinky asked me to go out with her to check a digital cam and some shoes she would wear for our trip, I really hate going out, just wanted to sleep. So we went to the store and while she was browsing the shoes at the ladies section, I saw a square poster-like calendar graphics on the far end of the shoe rack and when i went closer to pick it up, I couldn't believe what I saw: It was the best of the ROLLING STONES VINYL!!! Shiny new and all wrapped with its original plastic! I mean what the Eff is a 12" record doing in a shoe rack? It was so strange because the store doesn't sell vinyls or any discs! I thought someone must have left it there, but I came to ask the salesperson and they said it's for sale and that it's the only piece they have there, It took me seconds to pay it to the counter and boy I was so very happy to have it! I didn't find one when I was digging at a record store back in London, this one is a collector's item, I remember it was first released in 1971 and remastered in 1993. This one is a gem! I'm opening it now and will play it on my Technics SL1210 M5Gs, Thanks Pangga :-)

This is a strange find, indeed a diamond in the rough!

Still in its original wrap, tagged with a KD3.500 price (who cares about the price? It's rare)

Doodling Up The Hoodies!

I was at the Marina mall this afternoon with the fam, and after having lunch at TGI Fridays (whew! Loved the steak), we passed by H&M and Pull and Bear, nothing really attracts me but this plain white Xyde hoodies, my artistic instincts went off and for some reason I grabbed one medium-sized and bought a set of markers from the supermarket. What's happened? Well, this is what a graffiti artist like me would do to a white cloth armed with a set of permanent markers, Lol!

This looked soo white and plain, costs around $35.00

Step 1: Putting on the Blacks, I draw directly on the cloth with the black marker without using a guide of a pencil.

Step 2: Here's almost 50% of what's happened, I have no friggin' idea what to put here, well, it looks promising, Hehehe!

Tools of the Trade: Staedler Permanent Markers, Black/Red/Blue/Green.

Ok, I don't know why I have to put this here, but my painting behind me looks great!

Happy Birthday, Aliyah!

It was Aliyah's 8th birthday! This time, it's just a simple celebration. Unlike the past birthdays she had, the party at the Ritz Hotel on her 7th birthday, McDonald's Bayview , Gameworks, and the rest. Aliyah brought her treats on the day of her birthday at school, It was me and my wife who ushered the kids, served food and juices during their 30 minute break (yeah, we have to serve, sing, eat and wrap up in 30 minutes) It was great! Me and my wife had fun with the class, by just looking at their happy faces, makes your day complete and of course, Aliyah who was so happy on her special day! Thanks Mrs. Cristy Johnson for your help!

The cake that she always wanted to have: High School Musical, Suite Life & Hannah Montana!(This time, she's with them)

Taken at Gameworks, with her friends from AIS.

Blowing her birthday cake at school with her classmates, Thanks Ms Christy for allowing us to celebrate with her class:-)

Lunch time at TGI Fridays with her close friends, here with the singing staff of TGI rendering a birthday song.

Squeezing in for that snap, taken at Gameworks, Marina.

A sneak peek at my office

Okay, after briefing the guys at the creative department this morning, I had a 15 minute break to take a breather in my room. It's one of those moments where I have to sit back and relax a bit and free my mind from the usual daily clutter. I looked around and tried observing my room, the reception desk, I grabbed my camera and took snaps of our office. Here's some snaps, coming up next is the creative department (sounds fun :-)

Our office entrance, Welcome to Pencil!

The reception desk, as you can see, it's a huuuge pencil-like table.

The waiting area infront of the reception desk with my painting on the wall:-)

Our meeting room, It sits 6-8 person, with a customized surfing board table.

My Office, I know it's messy but what can I do? I could barely find time to clean up and do some arrangements, maybe I will get someone to clean it for me :-)

Another view of my desk, Whew! Papers here, notes there, Lol

My favorite part of my office, that's a 32" LCD Full HD TV. Hmm, I think I have to subscribe TFC or GMA soon :-)

Salamat, Teddy!

I was watching GMA TV last night when I saw this i-witness documentary where Jay Taruc was featuring the story of the late guitar wizard Teddy Diaz of the Dawn, Damn! I was zoomed back to the 80's when I was dancing and throwing myself in the pits with this band's "Enveloped Ideas", Akala nga namin nuon eh, British band, yun pala Pinoy?! Sayang nga lang at nawala agad si Teddy, we felt robbed by his sudden death. I remember seeing Teddy at the PWU premises nuon, He used to hang out with us Fine Arts students at the paseo, He's taking up music while we were the "falling ones" at the Fine Arts department:-) May You Rest in Peace, Teddy!

This clip is probably his best performance ever, at the San Miguel Oktoberfest.

Pacman vs The Golden Boy

Dayumn! Who is it gonna be? Oscar or Manny? We'll see on December 6! I will be watching this fight over a bottle of Jack Daniels, Lol. Pustahan naah! BTW, guys you can watch 24/7 on HBO tomorrow!

De Colores Art Exhibit

Well, since I created Oh My Blog, I haven't had the chance to update my art blog, I thought i'll transfer some of my posts here, starting with the "De Colores" Exhibit:-)

The "Dancing Gecko I" sold to Mr. Joe Kawasaki of Integra Films.

French Ambassador Corinne Breuzé being interviewed by ABS-CBN.

An inside view of the Reaz Doust gallery "packed" with friends, critiques, dealers, artists and the media.

Arcie, one of the guest that nite, poses with my acrobat artwork.

Christmas Countdown

"Pasko na naman, O kay tulin ng araw! paskong nagdaan tila ba kung kailan lang? Ngayon ay pasko, dapat pasalamatan, ngayon ay pasko, tayo ay magawitan!" And the song goes... 52 days left till Christmas Day! 23 Days left, Bakasyon nah! There's nothing like spending the holidays at home, the misa de gallo, carolings, the food (lechon), the beer, fire-crackers and all, and most specially, the gastoss!! Woo Hoo!

Remembering the Supremo

ANDRES BONIFACIO
, Founder of The Katipunan, was born to Santiago Bonifacio and Catalina de Castro, a Spanish mestiza, in Tondo, Manila on November 30, 1863 and died on May 10, 1897 at the age of 33. To remember the Supremo on his 145th birth anniversary is to rekindle in us his ideals - Liberty, Equality, and the Brotherhood of Men - a man of action, a great organizer, an indefatigable worker, and selfless Filipino who sacrificed his life to see his beloved Motherland freed from foreign domination.

Pepsi New Logo

I can't wait for this baby to hit the stores! I kinda like the new packaging design, though the logo, Umm, well... It can be better :-) But whatever, what a strategy! Here's a bit of their identity history:
